Description

Welcome to Bridlington Central Library

Located in the centre of Bridlington, on King Street. Visit the local studies library for local and family history research or get help with learning new skills with adult learning courses on the first floor (lift available). Memberships

Browse all books available to borrow on the library catalogue. Use your library card number and pin to log in to your account to renew your loans online or reserve books to pick up at this branch.

Stay hydrated

East Riding Libraries are part of the refill network for free water. Just ask any member of staff to fill your water bottle for you.

Get online at Bridlington Library

All East Riding Libraries are part of the Online Centres Network. You can access free, self-paced IT courses with Learn My Way and 400+ free Technology Guides from Digital Unite on our computers. You have access to the following at this library. Charges only apply for printing and photocopying. (See our Fees and Charges):

  • Three quick access computers on the ground floor
  • 17 computers for public use on the first floor
  • Adjustable height desk for wheelchair users on both floors

Bridlington Local Studies Library

The local studies library is housed on the first floor. It holds an extensive range of local and family history materials. Items range from historical maps and photographs to local historical newspapers on microfilm. Download the Bridlington Local Studies Library leaflet (pdf 6mb -opens in a new window).

Parking

There are six short stay parking bays behind the library on Queen Street, plus two disabled parking bays. Long and short stay public car parking is available at the nearby harbour.

Accessibility

The library main entrance is at street level, with automatic doors, leading to the lending and junior library. The IT suite, Local Studies Library and public toilets, including a wheelchair accessible toilet are all situated on the first floor, which can be accessed by lift or stairs. People with mobility problems can be dropped off and collected from the library entrance on King Street except on Wednesdays and Saturdays when access is restricted because of markets and on other days when events are being held.

Only assistance dogs are allowed on site.

There is an area where up to 6 single buggies and up to 4 mobility scooters or 4 wheelchairs, can be stored while you visit the library. There is no need to pre-book these spaces if attending an event at the library.

Public transport

Bridlington Bus Station is a five minute walk away, the train station is a 10 minute walk away.
