The East Riding of Yorkshire Council has a corporate Environment Management System (EMS) in place, which is certificated to the ISO14001:2015 standard. The 14001 standard is globally recognised and is achieved by organisations that have implemented robust environmental management practices. East Riding Libraries are proud to be part of the EMS and are committed to reducing their carbon footprint and protecting the environment.
East Riding Museums are proud to be part of the EMS and are committed to reducing their carbon footprint and protecting the environment. Some of our energy-saving measures include: Only procuring recycled paper, reducing our printed output wherever possible, and aiming to replace all museum lighting with more energy-saving alternatives where practical. We tour exhibitions to multiple sites to reduce wastage in producing exhibition panels.
