Schools and Artists celebrating creativity across the East Riding
This page now refers to the week we had 21st – 25th October 2024
Creativity Week is a new initiative coordinated by East Riding’s Cultural Education Partnership. We’re inviting all local schools to get involved in celebrating creativity and providing new opportunities for children and young people.
There will be a programme that all schools can join – digital resources will include live streamed concerts and theatrical performances, talks with well-known musicians, artists and curators to provide inspiration and sharing of new skills. Physical resources will include activity packs for KS1-4 developed by creative and heritage professionals.
Cultural institutions will also open their doors with free events for local schools, enabling local children to see high quality professional events and build connections between schools and their local venues.
Live shows, workshops and free venue tours in Beverley, Bridlington, Goole and Pocklington
On-demand, Livestream or pre-recorded shows, events, interviews or workshops to tune into.
A PDF activity pack for Key Stage 1-4. Including activity plans for a teacher to deliver or self self-led activity for a child.
Menu of artists from a variety of disciplines for rural and small schools. Half day visit from an artist.
East Riding Cultural Education Partnership includes East Riding of Yorkshire Council (Museums, Arts, Libraries, Music Service, School Improvement), Community Vision, ARCADE, Goole Junction and local schools as partners. We work to support educators and creatives to improve connections, knowledge and opportunities for cultural education in our area. We host regular networks as well as training opportunities and work with young people across the area to develop our plans.
Creativity Week is thanks to funding from Arts Council and National Lottery Funding grants.
